Indian Railways Reservation Fees – Indian Railways Reservation Form, Time Table

The railway reservation fee and supplementary charges (superfast trains) for different accommodation classes are as follows:

AC 1st Reservation Fees is Rs. 35 and the supplementary charges for superfast trains is Rs. 50. Reservation Fee for journeys originating from a different station than the place of issue is Rs. 50

Reservation FeesAC 2 Tier Reservation Fees is Rs. 25 and the supplementary charges for superfast trains are Rs. 30. Reservation Fee for journeys originating from a different station than the place of issue is Rs. 40

1st (Mail/Express) Reservation Fees is Rs. 25 and the supplementary charges for superfast trains are Rs. 30.

1st (Ordinary) Reservation Fees is Rs. 30 and the supplementary charges for superfast trains are nil. Reservation Fee for journeys originating from a different station than the place of issue is Rs. 40

AC – 3 Tier Reservation Fees is Rs. 25 and the supplementary charges for superfast trains is Rs. 30. Reservation Fee for journeys originating from a different station than the place of issue is Rs. 40

AC Chair Car Reservation Fees is Rs. 25 and the supplementary charges for superfast trains are Rs. 30. Reservation Fee for journeys originating from a different station than the place of issue is Rs. 40

Sleeper (Mail/Express) Reservation Fees is Rs. 20 and the supplementary charges for superfast trains are Rs. 20.

Second Sitting (Mail/Express) Reservation Fees is Rs. 15 and the supplementary charges for superfast trains are Rs. 10.

Sleeper (Ordinary) Reservation Fees is Rs. 20 and the supplementary charges for superfast trains are Nil. Reservation Fee for journeys originating from a different station than the place of issue is Rs. 30

Second Sitting (Ordinary) Reservation Fees is Rs. 15 and the supplementary charges for superfast trains are Nil. Reservation Fee for journeys originating from a different station than the place of issue is Rs. 25.

Additional reservation fee applicable in total chargeable fares in case of Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express trains are as follows:

Rajdhani Express trains: The additional charges for AC First, AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, AC Chair Car is Rs. 20.

Shatabdi Express trains: The additional charges for Executive, AC Chair Car is Rs. 20.

Jan Shatabdi Express trains: The additional charges for Second class are 15 and AC Chair Car is Rs. 20.

Exemption from reservation fees payment is applicable for officers and staff of the Railway and P&T department, MPs travelling on Identity Card and Military Officers travelling on free warrants. Similarly exemption from supplementary charges is applied on Railway Staff travelling on duty passes, privilege passes and PTOs, tourist holding Indrail passes and MPs travelling on Identity Card.

IRCTC Payment Options, Available payment mode of IRCTC

Indian Railways offers the different payment options while booking the tickets online over the internet. I- ticket as well as E-ticket uses the option of making payments online and pop up window will appear on clicking the button “Make Payment” after the details of the ticket is being submitted at the IRCTC site.  This window presents four different ways of making the payment including Credit cards, Credit cards EMI option, Direct Debit facility and Cash cards.

Payment by Credit Card and Debit Cards: Passenger seeking online railway reservation over the internet needs to select the bank for making payment. This method presents the option of ICICI PG, HDFC PG, CITI PG, AXIS PG and AMERICAN EXPRESS.  This usage of card should be enabled by the card issuer for making payments online.

Payment by Credit Cards EMI Option: This payment method presents the option of making payments online via Credit Card EMI option. This facility converts the Credit card purchases to equated monthly installments. One can chose from ICICI Bank EMI and CITI Bank EMI.

Payment OptionsPayment by Direct Debit Facility : This payment method presents the option to chose from large number of banks including ICICI Bank, AXIS Bank, Bank of Punjab, State Bank Of India, Syndicate Bank, Andhra Bank, Rajasthan Bank, Union Bank of India, HDFC Bank, ABN AMRO Bank, Centurion Bank, Punjab National Bank, Indusind Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Indian Bank,  Canara Bank,  CITI Bank, IDBI Bank, SBI ATM cum Debit Card, Federal Bank,  Karnataka Bank, Bank of India, SBI Associate Banks.

Payment by Cash Cards : This payment method allows the passengers seeking online reservation to make the payment via prepaid Cash Cards. It includes the ITZ Cash Card, Done Cash Card and I Cash Card.  There is growing popularity of using the Cash Cards for making online payments in comparison to earlier days where only credit and debit cards were used. Share of cash card usage for booking tickets online has increased over the previous year.
