Southern Railways Reservation- Southern Indian Railways Booking, Enquiry, Fares

Southern Railway Zone offers the facility of online reservation to its passengers where in they can book their tickets in advance for the various Southern Railway Stationdestinations. In addition to the online reservation, passengers can book their tickets from various reservation offices of Southern Railways and through various authorized travel agents.

The Station Managers of the few significant stations have been granted exceptional discretionary powers to allow refund on tickets which remain unused from their stations where refund is not permitted at the station because the time limits of expiry as mentioned in the railways policy.

The Southern Railway has organized various Standard Circular Journey tickets. These standard circular journey tickets eradicate the trouble of purchasing fresh tickets at every point of the travel. One needs to select a tour and purchase ticket directly from the booking office at the various stations.

Southern Railway Zone ReservationThe Southern railway offers various amenities for the passengers at the station including Medical Shop, Tourist Information Centre, STD/PCO booth, Computer Reservation Office, Retiring room, Waiting Room, Refreshment room including Veg and Non Veg, Light refreshment stall and book stall.

Retiring Rooms and dormitories (both AC and Non – AC) provided at major stations on Southern Railway can serve as your transit accommodation. Only those holding valid tickets for inward/outward journey are eligible to make use of this amenity. It is available at very reasonable cost.

East Central Railway – East Central Railways Reservation, Booking, Enquiry – East Central Railways Time Table

East Central Railway is one of the well-known railway zones of the Indian Railways. The office of the East Central Railway is headquartered at Hajipur in Bihar. The distance of railway headquarters from Patna is 25 kilometers.

The geographical jurisdiction of this zone comprises of five divisional headquarters including earlier divisions of Eastern Railway and North Eastern Railway like Sonepur, Dhanbad, Samastipur, Danapur and Mughal Sarai.

East Central Railway was inaugurated on 8th September, 1996 and it is making its mark progressively in the Indian railways scenario. It is one of those six zones who were established later as per the reorganization of the Indian Railways.

Hajipur is situated at approximately 200 Kms by rail and 25 Kms by road from Patna. East Central Railway was started on 08th September, 1996 and anticipated map of ECR was creation of provisional Zonal Office Building extending 3100 sqm area. East Central Railway began operating by carrying out the activities of Sonpur and Samastipur Division.

Danapur division possesses 738.55 route Kms comprising of 396.86 Kms double line and 341.69 Kms single line route. It consist s of total 1273 bridges including 197 major bridges and 1076 minor bridges. It comprises of 82 regular stations, 87 halts and 15 flag stations.

Danapur division also boasts of 104 passenger’s trains, 140 mail and express trains and 40 goods trains. Apart from that entire section of Jhajha to Mughalsarai and Patna to Gaya section is electrified.

Dhanbad division encompasses three distinctive coal mining areas including the Jharia coalfields that serve Bharat Coking Coal Limited mainly, Karanpura area serving Central Coalfields Ltd mainly, and the Singrauli coalfields belonging to Northern Coalfields Ltd.

Dhanbad division manages the traffic on two significant routes like the Grand Chord section that is between Pradhankhunta and Manpur and the CIC section on the Gomoh -Barkakana-Garwa Road.

The Central Railway of Indian Railways is one of the largest among the 16 railway zones. The headquarters of the Central Railway is located at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai. There are five divisional headquarters of Central Railway including Mumbai Division, Bhusawal Division, Nagpur Division, Solapur Division and Pune Division

Central RailwayThe central railway stretches over the larger parts of the Maharashtra state and portions of North-Eastern Karnataka and Southern Madhya Pradesh. The Central Indian Railway boasts of the nation’s first ever and foremost passenger railway line that was started on April 16, 1853 and extends from Bombay to Thane districts.

The Central railway came into existence on November 5, 1951 as a result of reorganization of the Indian Railways. It was formed by incorporating several government-owned railways, the Great Indian Peninsula Railway and the Scindia State Railway of Gwalior.

Initially the Central Railway zone included northern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and portions of southern Uttar Pradesh making it the biggest railway zone in India considering the area, track mileage and staff. Later on, in April 2003, it was structured into the new West Central Railway zone.

Some of the important Central Indian Railway Routes comprises of Mumbai CST – Dadar – Kurla – Kalyan – Manmad – Bhusawal – Wardha – Nagpur, Pune-Miraj-Kolhapur,  Bhusawal-Khandwa, Kalyan – Neral – Lonavala – Pune – Daund – Solapur – Wadi, Daund-Manmad, Nagpur-Amla-Itarsi and Wardha-Ballarsha

There are numerous noteworthy trains on this route which connects some major stations in Central Railway like Deccan Queen connecting Pune – Mumbai, Maharastra Express connecting Kolahpur – Gondia,  Pushpak Express  connecting Mumbai – Lucknow, Vidarbha Express connecting Mumbai – Nagpur, Konark Express connecting Bhubaneshwar – Mumbai, Gitanjali Express connecting Mumbai – Kolkata, etc

Central RailwayNeral to Matheran Line was constructed in 1907. It links Neral on the Mumbai-Pune main line to hill station of Matheran located in the Western Ghats.  Neral is connected to the Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus by numerous suburban electric trains. The route is renowned for its breathtaking and sharp curves.
